In 2001-2, work as Content Supervisor, Sudan for War Child Netherlands, based in Khartoum. This year long post involved assessment, training, training of trainers, project planning and evaluation of creative psycho- social programmes in and around Khartoum, working with IDPs, children in reformatories, street children and at the Blind School, as well as running trainings with SCF-UK, GOAL + UNICEF in Wau and Malakal.

6 month creative pscyho-social project in a centre for shamassa (street children) resulted in an exhibition at the British Council. The relationship between the young people and their guards was transformed through the appreciation of their work as artists, and is documented in my article: Feast of Colour: Art Making with Children of a Forgotten War in Art Therapy and Political Conflict, ed Bobby Lloyd and Debra Kalmonitz (Routledge 2005)
